WINDOW

I have always enjoyed watching chefs cook. There is something magical about it. It's l like a dance but instead of using feet, people use their hands. Just the thought of being able to see years of perfected techniques in motion for a dish that will soon be consumed by the customer is fascinating.

Shooting through a window at night like these photos always turns out cool. The mixed lighting plus the picture frame effect by using an actual window gives the photo this cyberpunk/Blade Runner street corner restaurant vibe. It's probably because they get a lot of references from Japan, which makes sense. I guess I'm just pointing that out.

I was hoping I would get more chefs cooking when walking through the back alleyways of Shibuya, but people like their privacy, so I'll give them. I think If I had an 85 or a 100mm that could shoot at night I would be able to stand farther to give them their space.
