THEN AND NOW

It's fascinating to observe how our perception of a photo can evolve over the years, shaped by our experiences and changing perspectives. Back in my college days, I immersed myself in a few photography classes for my electives, and one of my favorite spots to capture was the picturesque boat houses. There was something about that location that always seemed to beckon my lens.

Returning to that same spot after several years, I found myself drawn to it once again. The familiarity of the surroundings intertwined with time reminds me of the stories those boat houses hold.

Curiously enough, whenever I set out for a photo shoot, the rain seemed to follow closely behind me, almost like an inevitable companion. It used to frustrate me, feeling like an unfortunate curse looming over my photography. Yet, as time passed, I began to see it as a unique blessing in disguise. The rain bestowed my photos with a distinct character, adding an ethereal quality.

The resulting images often held a captivating essence, reminiscent of scenes from a spine-chilling Halloween story, evoking imagery akin to the mystical realm of Sleepy Hollow.

Even now as I write this, I'm on a bullet train to Fukuoka, with the rain tapping on the window like an old friend dropping by to say hello.

Fun fact. I almost missed my stop.
