It's okay to wait.
Getting the shot should not be rushed. Maybe that shot needs to be taken at a different time. It might be because of not having the proper glass, the time of day, the weather, or even the season. Yes, there are times when time is of the essence, but if there is time, use it.
For this photo, I have waited three years to shoot. I knew how I wanted this photo to look in my head, so I waited until the timing was right. The wait was mostly from me forgetting the tripod, but I knew if I tried to use handheld for this I would have changed my settings to the point where I wouldn't get the proper exposure.
With all of that, I'm happy about the results.
It was worth the wait.
